MotionArt children’s classes focus on enhancing individual creativity while facilitating an understanding of the dance elements of Space, Time and Energy. Our emphasis is on providing an experience where children can grow and develop – both in their movement skill and in their artistic expression – in a fun and nurturing environment. All instructors for these classes are professional dance educators who specialize in teaching children.
A Liability Waiver and Registration Form are required for your child to attend any of our classes. Please download, fill out and either email back (email provided on form) or print and bring to the first session. For more information, please contact at 612-922-6019.
**PAYMENT OPTIONS: For all children’s classes, you may prepay online with your credit card via PayPal, or feel free to bring cash, check or credit/debit card to the first class. Checks should be payable to MotionArt.**
In these 3-week mini sessions, preschoolers explore dance concepts through playful, structured activities accompanied by acoustic instruments and a wide variety of music. Children expand their movement vocabulary, develop body awareness, and gain self-confidence in a fun, nurturing environment.

This class facilitates an understanding of the dance elements of Space, Time and Energy through improvised and structured activities. Children explore multiple concepts within these elements while practicing movement skills and enjoying new challenges. Students at this age begin to create their own dances and share them with their peers. No previous experience necessary.
Location: Center for Performing Arts*
Cost: $75 for each 3 – week session (6 classes)
Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30 – 11:30 am
(June 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28) and/or (August 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23)
In this class, students expand their creative potential and kinesthetic awareness as they explore a variety of concepts within the dance elements of Space, Time and Energy. They are introduced to basic technical skills and movement vocabulary of Modern Dance and also have opportunities to improvise and create their own dances. No previous experience necessary.
Location: Center for Performing Arts*
Cost: $85 for each 3 – week session (6 classes)
Mondays and Wednesdays 11:45 – 1 pm
(June 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28) and/or (August 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23)
