WORKSHOP: Shoulder Girdle and Arms.

MotionArt is excited to be offering a variety of workshops for movers of all ages and abilities u2013 dancers and nondancers – interested in learning more about their bodies in motion. The first of the series, beginning in September, will be a workshop called Moving Anatomy. Not only will this be a u201cuser friendlyu201d introduction to skeletal and muscle anatomy, but participants will be able to apply this knowledge on themselves and others to increase awareness, learn more efficient movement patterns and to help in the prevention of injuries. Instructional methods will include the presentation of information, demonstrations using a skeleton and other instructional models, hands on learning, movement exploration, discussion, and reading material to take home.u00a0

To aid in the learning process, this workshop will be broken down into 4 mini workshops, with each one focusing on a different area of the body. These four sessions (see below) will meet over the course of two months. It is recommended to take all four parts of this workshop to get a complete u201croadmapu201d of your body and to enhance your learning about how the body moves as a whole. That being said, you may sign up for individual sections.
